For investment providers

Specialist propositions
deserve a professional hearing.

New Walk Consulting works with a small number of specialist investment providers on positioning, adviser-facing material and credible access to professional intermediaries.

Engagements are selective. [Commercial terms, scope and any regulatory arrangements to be confirmed.]

The problem

Most propositions are not misunderstood. They are mis-explained.

Specialist providers rarely fail on product design. They fail on positioning: material written for the wrong reader, mechanics explained in the language of the fund rather than the language of the adviser's file.

Advisers have to justify a recommendation years after they make it. If a proposition cannot be described structurally — where the return comes from, what secures it, what has to remain true — it will not be recommended, however strong the underlying business.

New Walk's contribution is to close that gap before a proposition reaches the intermediary market.

What we do

Six practical workstreams

Engagements are shaped around what a provider actually needs, drawn from the following.

Positioning

Clarifying what the proposition is, who it suits, and the language an adviser can actually use on file.

Material review

Reviewing adviser-facing material so structure, security and risk are addressed before performance.

Distribution strategy

Deciding which intermediary audiences are worth pursuing, in what order, and at what pace.

Introductions

Introducing propositions to advisers, wealth managers and family offices where the fit is genuine.

Technical translation

Turning fund mechanics into an explanation an adviser can record, defend and revisit later.

Honest appraisal

Saying plainly where a proposition is not yet ready for the intermediary market, and why.

Experience

Distribution built on adviser relationships.

Andrew has spent over thirty years in financial services, across the UK life and pension market and offshore life companies based in the Isle of Man, with a specialism in tax, trusts and UK pensions.

That background shapes how propositions are introduced: technically, patiently, and to advisers for whom the proposition genuinely fits.

Process

How an engagement works

  1. 01

    Introduction

An initial conversation about the proposition and its intended audience.

  2. 02

    Structural review

Examining how the proposition is built and how it is currently explained.

  3. 03

    Positioning work

Reframing the narrative and material for a professional readership.

  4. 04

    Selective introductions

Engagement with advisers and intermediaries where the fit is genuine.

  5. 05

    Ongoing support

Feedback from the market, and refinement of material over time.

Fit

What we look for

Three things tend to determine whether an engagement is worthwhile for either side.

A structure that stands up

Where the return comes from, what secures it and who ranks first must be explainable in plain terms.

A defined audience

Clarity about who the proposition is for — and, just as importantly, who it is not for.

A long-term view

Credible adviser relationships are built slowly. Providers seeking volume quickly are a poor fit.

Tell Andrew about the proposition.

Send a short outline of the structure and the intended audience. Andrew will say honestly whether New Walk is the right fit.
